These images represent my documentation of one of my Performances. This piece stands for my concept that I am my own canvas.
This piece addresses the overwhelming feeling of being a creative person, possibly a future artist. While filming I transformed my own house in my art studio, so the atmosphere is more intimate. It feels like allowing the audience to be present in my personal space. “Drowning inside” is a reflection of overthinking my art; there are some phrases that would never be said without this piece. Being in such a vulnerable and open spot is a kind of therapy: for me because I finally talk about my emotional state and for people who identify with my monologue. I claim my body as my own canvas and here is another question raised: who is the artist and who is the art? Because the paint was poured on me by someone else, it can be assumed that I don’t lead my project anymore. I will let the audience decide who is who; but keep in mind that the overall concept and execution were led by me.
Without the present situation (lockdown) this video would be a real performance, but recording my it and creating this video I have as a result a response to the “new online normality”. This is my way to preserve as good as I can my piece and to offer access to more people to see it.
